people talking about “forced diversity” like characters being PoC or LGBT or disabled “for no reason” like
are people in real life PoC or LGBT or disabled for a reason
do these critics run up to people on the street like WHY ARE YOU BLACK
You know I’m reblogging this again, because the sad thing, is, this is basically something people do. If you look at my last ask, it’s basically like “why do you have to identify as a color? Why do you have to even see color?”
Additionally there’s the equally common “well why do you even have to tell people you’re (insert queer identity here)?”
Every day as a marginalized person is about proving not only your worth, but the value and necessity of your mere EXISTENCE.
I feel like we need a club and jackets.
